This policy applies to continuing education activities that Sorxi offers as an approved provider of the California Board of Registered Nursing. It does not apply to any other Sorxi product, tool, or service, none of which carry continuing-education credit or contact hours. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in the shared glossary.
Sorxi is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a provider of continuing education. Every credited activity and every certificate carries the Board's required provider statement, showing the number of contact hours that activity awards:
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #18249 for 1 contact hour.
The number of hours shown is the number that activity awards. Typography may differ between surfaces by design — the certificate and printed materials capitalise "Contact Hours" — which does not change the statement.
Contact hours are recognized for California registered-nurse license renewal. Nurses licensed in other states should confirm that their own board accepts continuing education approved by another state's board of nursing; some states do not.
Every activity awards at least one contact hour, which is the California minimum. A longer activity may award more, including half hours. Sorxi builds to at least 60 minutes of instruction per contact hour, so the hours awarded hold in states that define a contact hour as 60 minutes rather than California's 50. The written derivation of each activity's hours is kept in the provider file.
Partial credit is never granted: if you do not complete an activity, no hours are awarded for the part you did complete.
The criteria for successful completion are published identically on the activity page, on the certificate, and in any listing. Sorxi offers continuing education both as live activities and, where designated, as self-paced online activities:
The course evaluation is a required element of both formats.
On successful completion, Sorxi issues a certificate showing the provider name and number, the activity title, the contact hours awarded, your name and registered-nurse license number, and the completion date.
You must retain your certificate for four years after the course concludes. Sorxi separately retains the participant and activity records the Board requires for four years, including your name, license number, the activity, the date, and the hours awarded.
Because this retention is required by law, these records are kept even if you ask us to delete your account. Where that happens, Sorxi removes the link between the records and your account and keeps only the fields the Board requires. See the Privacy Policy.
Where a continuing-education activity is purchased separately from a Subscription or membership:
Refunds are available within 24 hours of purchase, provided you have not accessed the course content. After 24 hours the purchase is final, whether or not you have accessed the course. No contact hours are issued for an incomplete activity.
Live activities. For a live activity, refunds are available from purchase until the activity begins or until 24 hours after purchase, whichever comes first. There is no refund for non-attendance — if you do not attend a live activity you have paid for, no refund is issued.
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation right you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
Where an activity is included with a Subscription or membership, the refund and cancellation terms in the Billing, Refunds & Cancellations policy govern, and access ends when the Subscription ends. If your Subscription payment is refunded after contact hours were awarded, the refund is reduced by the then-current a-la-carte price of each activity for which hours were awarded. Your hours and certificate are not affected by the refund.
Return of fees. Where a refund is due, Sorxi issues it to your original payment method within five business days of approving your request. Your bank or card issuer controls when it posts to your account, which usually takes a further five to ten business days.
If Sorxi cancels an activity. If Sorxi cancels or withdraws an activity you have registered for or purchased, Sorxi notifies you by email at the address on your account and refunds any fee paid in full, regardless of the 24-hour window above.
This policy is written, published with every activity, and available on request, as required of approved providers by 16 CCR §1454(c).
If you have a complaint about a Sorxi continuing education activity — its content, its delivery, the hours awarded, your certificate, or your records — email help@sorxi.com with your name, the activity, and what happened.
Sorxi acknowledges every complaint within five business days and works to resolve it within thirty days. Complaints are reviewed by Sorxi's Chief Nursing Officer, who is the responsible party for continuing education. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact the California Board of Registered Nursing directly.
Sorxi keeps a record of each complaint and its resolution in the provider file.
Where your records are held. Certificates, completion records, evaluations and any assessment material are held in Sorxi's own systems, which require sign-in. They are never published to Sorxi's marketing website or to any service whose uploaded files are publicly reachable by anyone holding the address.
Sorxi continuing education is educational, not promotional. Activities are not advertisements for Sorxi products. Any commercial support for an activity, and any relevant financial relationship held by an author or reviewer, is disclosed to participants before the activity begins. See the Conflict of Interest Policy.
Continuing education activities are educational only. They do not provide clinical decision support, patient-specific advice, legal or compliance determinations, or accreditation or survey-readiness claims, and they do not write, approve, or certify any policy. The disclaimers in the Terms of Use apply.
